FARM LEAGUE MISSION

Farm league baseball is all about getting the kids to hold the ball properly, give teammates a target to throw at, basic mechanics and fundamentals.  This is a great age to get the kids practicing in the backyard or at a local park.  There should never be glove far away while the kids are outside.  Get old Grandpa or Uncle Tony out in the yard and toss the ball around!

 

WEEK 1 SKILLS

Throwing Skills: Aim-Step-Throw, learning to play catch.

WEEK 2 SKILLS

Catching Skills: Correct positioning of the glove, stopping the ball (grounders), proper body positioning.

WEEK 3 SKILLS

Batting Skills: Level swing and contact, batting stance, bat grip and body balance.

WEEK 4 SKILLS

Game Skills: Base advancement, tag play vs force out, where to throw the ball and when, basic positional knowledge.
